I'm
still working on this section. I've been getting the show itself
up on its feet - but meanwhile (and since September '08, really, when I
started Old Growth research in earnest) my head has been roiling (?) with ideas.
There are many top-ten lists
out there, and other collections of effective steps we can each
personally take to reduce our ecological footprint...
Annie Leonard (creator/host of the brilliant, clear and utterly necessary film The Story of Stuff) lists ten little-and-big things
Greenpeace Canada has many lists of green living tips, arranged by specific topic, circumstance or even holiday!
or join World Wildlife Fund's The Good Life - which helps you challenge your own consumption habits.
And meanwhile, I'll keep
working on my own top-ten. The lists above are fantastic,
well-researched and tested... but my list will be more about shifting
paradigms. How do we change how we see the world - and how do we
help others to see differently as well?
I'll give you one for now, though: READ. It's all out there. Here's my recommended booklist-in-progress (the books I read while working on the script for Old Growth... and the books in my inbox.)
