Text from a speech by Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the USA

At his first inauguration, with the country facing Civil War, President Lincoln appealed to all to look to the “better angels of our nature," calling on our inclinations of empathy, self-control, and a sense of moral compass. Ember's 2025-2026 season, entitled "Our Better Angels," focuses on times of great upheaval in America in which such enlightened leadership led us to some of our most shining endeavors. "The New Frontier," in particular, is inspired by how Americans used our skills, training, and courage to take the first steps to conquer space and features a novel program including:

"A Present from a Small Distant World" by Alex Eddington

"Island in Space" by Kirk Mechem

"Where the Two Roads Cross" by Michael Markowski

"Stars" by Eriks Esenvalds

"The Impossible Dream," from Man of La Mancha

The event is FREE; donations are always welcome. Registration through emberarts.org is required. Join us for a night of much-needed inspiration!

We are pleased to offer this concert at a “pay what you can” rate with $35 being a suggestion. Please register for tickets here.
